Study tables offer you an opportunity to work with a tutor in a small group environment. If you sign up, you will meet once per week for one hour. The Supplemental Instruction Leaders (SI Leaders) who direct the study sessions are students like you who have been completed the the course and attend all current lectures, who have been trained to facilitate group learning, who enjoy anatomy and physiology, and who are excited about working with fellow students to help you succeed in the course. The Study Table sessions are meant to be interactive and engaging, so please plan to bring notes and questions.
Why should you consider signing up? Maybe you're not very confident about your expertise in the course content. Or maybe you learn better in groups where you get to talk through concepts with other people. Or maybe you just remember what your instructor told you about how students who attend Study tables regularly get better grades than if they don't. At the very least, Study Tables are meant to help you keep up with the course.
All study tables are held in the Collaborative Learning Center (CLC), located on the main floor in the Valley Library just behind the Reference desk and next to the Information Commons (computers). The first sessions begin Monday of the second week of classes.
