Online Peer Educator Training
The “Introduction to Student-Centered Peer Education” is an online training program designed to offer peer educators some key concepts for working effectively in a peer-to-peer dynamic. This training is structured with three primary content areas between the introduction and conclusion. They can be used as a complete set or in modularized units.

Unit Materials
- Unit 1: Foundational Elements for Working with Someone (includes content on listening and being present, asking questions and prompting thinking, seeking clarification, validating others, building self-awareness)
- Unit 2: Empowering Students through Collaborative Learning (includes content on helping someone learn, supporting through collaboration vs direction, learning activities, and what to do when you get stuck)
- Unit 3: Creating a Supportive Structure for Learning (includes content on creating structure, preparing for the session, and creating a structure for a conversation or session using the “WISE” model)
Each of the three units includes a note-taking and reflection sheet to download or print prior to beginning each unit. In addition, at the end of each unit, there is a worksheet to download key take-aways and information as a reference sheet to use in the future.
